BAPTISM CHAPEL

This chapel and the Chapel of the Souls, which is located in the same section, just in front of it, are from the time of the modernist works. The baroque church was enlarged and for this reason the old chapel of Baptism was moved to the newly created place that it occupies at the moment.

In the central part of the chapel we can see the baptismal font that was blessed on May 25, 1844 and moved to its current location on the occasion of the expansion of the temple.

In the right part of the chapel we find another painting that represents Saint Joseph holding the child. Jesus carries a white dove in his left hand and with his right hand he writes on a piece of paper: "Come, children, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of God (Psalm 33)". At the top left is the Virgin, carrying a feather. Below are children hanging on the scene and with a raised arm directed towards Jesus. Above, God the Father contemplates the scene, accompanied by angels carrying the attributes of Saint Joseph (lilies and carpenter's tools).
