When leaving the church you can go to the left and go up Carrer del Born, it is the section where the tram tracks pass. You will see a fence made of living stone and wrought iron, designed by the architect Joan Rubió with the help of Antoni Gaudí. It was part of the modernist Works. Look at the stone and wrought iron work that Rubió himself designed down to the smallest detail. As you approach the corner of the block, notice the stone fence from which a large cross, also made of stone, protrudes. It is worth taking a look at the church garden. In this section you will see, in the background, a semicircular portal, walled with a tombstone, it is the main portal of the 14th century temple. If you look higher you will see a window from the same period. Now only for the most trained observers: If you look closely at the wall you will see some darker and smaller stones that show you what the entire main façade was like in the 14th century. They have reached the corner of the block. Turn left, down the small street of Santa Bárbara and leaving the tram tracks, you will find a portal with an iron gate that leads to the Church garden. It is a portal of the old wall built on the occasion of the corsair invasion of the 16th century. With the portal we can see a fragment of that wall that the architect Rubió left as a testimony of that time. We continue on this side. Observe the bell tower, we continue along the Antoni Maura square until we find a street that turns to the left, it is Juan Bautista Enseñat street. It is worth looking at the wall of the temple, it tells us stories from different times. The first thing we will see is the wall of the parish sacristy and immediately we will see a window from the 14th century. Just behind was the main altar of the church. We pass a corner and we find the side wall of the parish. It is a canvas that we must study in great detail: in the lower part you will see the old wall with the loopholes, the stones above are different. When the Baroque works were carried out, in the 17th and 18th centuries, the wall was used to build the new one just above it. As you go down the street you will be able to see, before reaching the square, a row of the cantonal stones of the baroque church, remember that with the modernist works the temple was enlarged. The wall continues below and the wall at the top already corresponds to Rubió's work. They have already reached the Plaza Mayor or Plaza de la Constitución, it is time to look at the monumental façade. If you have come this far, your visit could not be more complete.
